Grading Process FAQs

1)  When do we send our subs?

  • On the 31st of every month.
  • We will need to receive your cards by the 25th to process them in the current month’s sub.
  • If they arrive later, they will go in next month’s sub.

2)  What is included in the fee we charge?

  • PSA grading fee
  • Postage & insurance between Mystical and PSA

Not included is:

  • Postage & insurance between Mystical and you

3) What grading tier do I choose?

To choose what grading tier you wish to purchase, you need to first ask yourself these questions:

  1. Value: What do I think the value of my card is once it is graded?
  • If I have a Rainbow Charizard from Brilliant Stars which I believe is a 10, it’s graded value will be approximately $300 USD. This means I should select the Silver Tier of grading.

    This has an estimated turnaround of 3 months.
  1. Speed: How fast do I want my graded cards returned to me?
  • If you want a faster turnaround, select a higher tier of grading.
  • For example, if I wanted to get my Charizard graded faster, I’d select the Gold Tier which has an estimate PSA turnaround of 2-4 weeks.

4) How do I value my cards so I know which tier they fit into?

  • Estimate what grade your card will get. Check its centering, surface, edges, and corners.
  • A well centred card, with no surface damage or whitening may qualify for a PSA10.
  • Look up your card’s graded value on eBay sold listings based on your estimate of what you think your card will grade.
  • Convert the average sold price to USD, and use that price point as reference when determining what tier to price your card in.

5) How to prepare your order?

  • Place your cards you wish to submit for grading into penny sleeves, then into card savers (not top loaders). If cards are not prepared this way, a sorting fee of $0.50 per card will be additionally charged.
  • Send your cards to us in a cardboard box (or a padded mailer at your own risk). We recommend express postage with insurance.

7)  What postage is offered for the return of graded cards?

Postage is calculated once your graded cards have returned to us.

Postage price back to you will depend on:

  • Quantity of cards
  • Insurance & value of graded cards
  • Standard or express postage

Signature on delivery is compulsory and included on all returned parcels. We will email you once your submission is returned regarding payment details for postage back to you.

8) What happens if I undervalue my cards and submit in the wrong tier?     

  • If you submit your card/s in a tier where your max graded value exceeds that of the tier, you will be notified prior to us sending them out for grading.
  • We will provide you with the option to upgrade a tier or have your card returned to you ungraded.
